The insulated conductors are twisted together to create a spring pressure, then wrapped with an outer sheath suitable for the environment in which the detector is to be installed.<\/p>\n<p>At the calibrated temperature, the heat-sensitive insulating polymer yields against the pressure generated by the heat radiation, allowing the inner conductors to contact each other and trigger an alarm signal. This action occurs at any heated point within the length of the detector cable.
