Dry column

The dry standpipe is a type of firefighting installation for firefighters only, consisting of a 3″ vertical pipe with water intakes on the different floors of the building.

This pipe distributes the water from an initial inlet at street level to the different intakes on the different floors of the building.

Key features

  • IPF 41: Intake in façade installed in a cabinet or box with inscription “EXCLUSIVE FIRE FIGHTERS USE”, consisting of a Siamese mouth with 2 inlets of Ø70 mm.
  • IPF 39: In-plant outlet installed in cabinet or manhole, consisting of a Siamese mouth with 2 outlets of Ø45 mm.
  • IPF 40: In-plant outlet with the same characteristics as IPF39, but with a shut-off valve for the main pipe.
  • Installation is in accordance with R/D 1942/1993.
